Spirulina Energy Balls
Recipe
These are perfect for a quick snack, especially before a workout, an on-the-go breakfast or at any time you feel like you need a quick something to pick you up.
The spirulina and nuts mix is a great combo to give you a kick of your complex amino acids and literally give you a mood boost, not just energy!
Equipment: food processor
Cooking time: 15 min
Difficulty: easy
–
Ingredients
-
250g brazil nuts
-
250g pumpkin seeds
-
50g gluten free oats
-
2 tbs. Spirulina powder
-
1 small ripe banana
-
8 pitted dates
-
2 tbs. coconut oil
-
100 ml almond/hemp/coconut/rice milk
Method
1. Place all ingredients (apart from milk) and blend until smooth, then start adding milk just a bit at the time.
2. Prepare a bowl of cold water where you can dip your hands every now and then (the ‘dough’ will stick less to your hands this way) and then start rolling the balls into a size a bit smaller than a golf ball.
Tip: they’ll be good in the fridge for about two weeks but you can freeze some of them for later, if you wish.
