Spirulina Green Monster

I would like to say that I drink smoothies religiously every day…

But when I do, I usually make the greenest concoction possible. It’s just the feeling that you get when all the vitamins hit your blood stream – haha I know how it sounds, but it’s true!

So here is my ‘green booster’, ‘detox shot’ and ‘fibre filler’ – all in one, especially for you! J

Equipment: blender/Thermomix

Prep time: 5 min

Difficulty: easy

 

Spirulina-Monster-Smoothie_pt

Ingredients


  • 1 banana, peeled
  • 3 kale leaves, washed
  • Handful of frozen blueberries (you can use fresh ones)
  • ¼ green cucumber
  • 1 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1 tsp. Spirulina powder
  • 300 ml water (or more if you like it a little bit more runny)

If you are not used to green juices then you might want to add a couple of pitted dates, 1-2 spoons of maple syrup or double the quantity of bananas to make it sweeter.

Other super food powders that I add on a rotational basis: (I wouldn’t add all of them at once!)

  • 1 tsp. Chlorella
  • 1 tsp. Pea protein powder
  • 1 tsp. Lucuma powder
  • 1 tsp. Maca powder
  • 1 tbsp. Hemp seeds

Method


Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

**If you add chia seeds – drink immediately as it might set very quickly.
